Welcome to Day 2 of the Raising Nourished Girls Interview Series!
My vision for this interview series was to connect with inspiring "world changer" women experts and thought leaders from all over the globe.
By creating a space where we can learn how to better support, empower and nourish our pre-teen/teen girls ( and YOU MOMS) I believe that anything is possible!
In these educational, empowering and connective interviews below we discuss our girls "everything changing" as it relates to their overall health, puberty, confidence, emotional wellness and joy.
Don't forget to join the (optional) private facebook group for moms where we'll continue the conversation!

Our third interview today is with Karen Sugar.
Karen Sugar, Founder and Director, Women's Global Empowerment Fund, Gender Studies Lecturer, University of Colorado, and Mom of two daughters :)
Short Bio:
Karen Sugar is the Founder and Director of Women’s Global Empowerment Fund. Currently based in Denver and Los Angeles, Sugar and her mission extend internationally, providing tools and programs creating economic, social and political empowerment to women, girls and families. The mission of WGEF stems from a life-long commitment to human rights and social justice. Sugar’s guiding belief is that women are natural leaders and must have a seat at the policy table, political and social agency. She is also an adjunct Professor at the University of Colorado, teaching gender studies and human rights.
Sugar’s work has been recognized as unique and valuable, receiving global leadership awards, sharing her experiences to audiences around the globe.
Before founding WGEF, Sugar worked with homeless women and children in Atlanta, Georgia and was a community organizer for reproductive rights in Denver, Colorado. She is also the mom to two amazing young women.
Sugar has dedicated her life to solving issues around social justice; strongly emphasizing her dedication to equality and human rights. Sugar argues that if the goal is true empowerment, we must go further and suggest that all human beings experience equal and full access, and not one gender over another.
“Empowerment must include equality and liberties for all; only when all people are imbued with dignity, justice and human rights can we say that we are empowered.”
